Tibby Cotter
Hello,there,
I was most interested to read the piece about "Tibby" Albert Cotter .. he was my Grandfathers brother, so I am most interested in the book to be published about Tibby's life and death, at Beersheba. The article in the Australian, did make an error, in that after his brother John was killed, 3 weeks before Tibby, his two "middle" brothers died, in seperate accidents, many years later, the other 2 brothers lived till the early 50s. They all lived a priviledged, happy life, in Glebe, Sydney, all well educated, and "keen" on sport, Tibbys brother Norman, especially, who, but for an injury to his knees, would,I have heard, have been the star of the family. So, that,s my "pennyworth" ... nice to get it straight. So,... the true story comes out, of this "fearless" stretcher bearer He must have been a really admired man,on the battlefield,.....and from what I have heard from my (older)! relatives ,quite a charmer, (with startling blue eyes) and a lovely personality But, as with So Many other young men,... what a waste. Thank you for reading, Janette Smith |
