There is every chance this will be Matt Elliott's last match as an NRL
coach. With the Panthers now out of the running, he has taken the
completely unprecedented step of selecting the club's best halves
combination for this final match, in their correct postions. Players
who wish to hasten the process of Elliott's sacking (and my
understanding is that this is pretty much all of them) can be expected
to play out of their skin, demonstrating that but for Elliott's odd
selections all year, the club would still be in the running. I think
this is why we've seen so much molten chocolate of late.
Having said that I think Manly will win the comp.

It's tempting to pick the Dogs. Teams that richly deserve the spoon
often tend to offload it with a last round win. The Pamfas got their
last 2 spoons that way. And the Raiders are beginning to look a bit
like Lime Splices once again. But it's in Canberra, so snap out of it.
