Well, that's a relief; we know NRL players never lie. I bet he was crying

I guess they must've arrested him for the January 19 assault, then, or maybe
the Lara Bingle text message thing.
Anyway, we've all heard how unfairly he's treated and that the Bird is just
a nice guy who gets a bit carried away in the heat of the moment... sound
familiar? The Shire's produced a fair few of these knuckle-draggers over the
years, too many for it to be a coincidence.
Time for the Bird to fly to Frogville; judging by the bad mo's and alleged
dislike of the fairer sex he's probably better suited to the other code
anyway.

Trying to work out how it's relevant? I realise both were convicted of
crimes, went to jail and never played the game again.
I trust Greg Bird is heading towards a similar result.
