different tipping comps

been playing with my spreadsheet just to see how different tipping comps
work ...

Let's assume that tipping the correct team doesn't matter. You start each
game with 12 points, the equivalent of 2 converted tries. The further you
are away from the correct margin the less points you score So if you tip
the raiders today against newcastle by 12 and they lose by 6, you're 18
away from the correct margin, you've missed out by 18. You can't score
less than 0 for each game, so if you're 12 or more points away you score
0.

I'm sure Nathan would love this idea.

In fact TabSB leads whether you use 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 50 or 100 as the
number of points to start with in each game. So even if the Raiders beat
the Panthers 74-12 you can still score points if you start with 100,
although I picked the Panthers by 14 so missed out by 76 on the correct
margin.

I suck at all of them. I'm in the 8 in the current comp, in all of these
I'm near the bottom ...

With 12 points ...

Jeeze ruud don't be in too much of a hurry to adopt the 36 point
model.

OK, this spot on the ladder is probably closer to where I deserve to
be than my real spot. But that somehow lacks appeal.

I'll accept all the uneven playing fields in the world, as long as
it's to my advantage. I'm getting in touch with my inner Cheating,
Unfair-advantage-seeking Bastard...
