By the time the radio announcers have told of the best price in Sydney, the
petrol station with the best prices would be jacking up the prices.
Consumers have no choice under the current system, no one in Sydney knows
where the best price petrol station will be at 2pm, yet everyone in Perth
does.
The prices I am posting are the lowest prices for the day, but the reality
is that in Perth people actually KNOW where the cheapest fuel is,
potentially saving them 6-8 cents a litre than they would pay had they gone
to a random petrol station.
Sydney siders meanwhile have no ****ing idea where the cheapest fuel will be
at any part of the day, they will just end up going to a random fuel station
because prices keep changing every few hours.
So fuel watch has the benefit of:
1. Causing competition to have the lowest fuel price for the day, sending
fuel to a cheaper level than Sydney
2. Letting consumers KNOW where they can buy the cheapest fuel, instead of
having to guess saving them potentially an additional 5 cents a
litre(something none of these Lib losers want to bring up)
3. Letting consumers DECIDE whether to fill up the car tommorow or today. If
looking at the fuel watch website you find prices will be higher tommorow,
you will probably decide filling up today is a good idea. Not only this, but
you may decide to put off filing up the car for a few days while prices are
high. With fluctuations in fuel prices this could save an ADDITIONAL 5
cents a litre.
While Sydneysiders are driving around the city wasting fuel looking for the
best price, Perth citizens already KNOW where the cheapest price is the
NIGHT BEFORE.
The Libs are against this because they know it's a good idea but want to tap
into anger about fuel prices. **** em, I want to know what fuel prices will
be in my city tommorow and i want to know where the cheapest price will be.
