7. This week's top 50:

It's now been 5 weeks at the top for American singer Katy Perry
with "I Kissed A Girl". Her domination on music charts at the
moment is worldwide with her single currently number one in the
UK, US, New Zealand and top 10 across much of Europe and Asia.

It looked like The Pussycat Dolls would be the ones to finally
dispose of Katy, but after spending the last 3 weeks at number 2,
"When I Grow Up" drops to number 4.

Moving up into this week's runner-up position is Metro Station with
"Shake It". This is firming up as a future number one as that
song has already reached the top of the digital track chart and
it soars to number 4 on the CD singles chart this week.

Also outselling Katy Perry on this week's digital chart is Kid
Rock's "All Summer Long". This single finally made it into record
stores in time for this week's chart, propelling it from number 8
to 3 on the combined singles chart.

After 6 weeks, Jason Mraz reaches the top 10 as "I'm Yours" climbs
from number 15 to 10 this week, purely on digital sales. Making
way for Jason in the top 10 is Rihanna's former top 3 smash
"Take A Bow" which drops from number 9 to 13 this week.

There was only one brand new hit into last week's top 50, that
being the Jonas Brothers with "When You Look Me In The Eyes".
That song was unable to maintain headway this week, being one
of four hits to leave the top 50. So there are 4 new hits this
week, one being a re-entry for Aussie electro group The Potbelleez
with "Don't Hold Back" which clocks up week number 35 in the
top 50. Their current single, "Are You With Me" is also on the
move, bulleting to a new peak of number 15 this week.

19. CRY FOR YOU - September
CD single: #14
Digital track: #23
Music video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChrSo9Dw90s (2008)

Born Petra Marklund, this 23 year-old singer from Sweden goes
by name of the month she was born in, that being September.
In 2004, she released her debut self-titled album which gave
her 3 top 10 hits in her home country. Her second album,
"In Orbit", was released in 2005 and spawned hits which
were popular in numerous countries in Europe. However,
her big break through came when her single "Cry For You"
was released in 2006, as not only did it do well in Europe,
it also reached number one on the American Billboard Hot
Dance Airplay chart. "Cry For You" features a keyboard riff
from the 1984 song "Smalltown Boy" by British synthpop group
Bronski Beat. "Cry For You" was remixed and re-released this
year, complete with a new music video, and it recently
peaked at number 5 in the UK as well as going top 10
elsewhere in Europe. The re-release of "Cry For You"
enters the Australian singles chart at number 19 this week.

38. 7 THINGS - Miley Cyrus
CD single: (not released yet)
Digital track: #33
Music video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr0Wv5DJhuk
Song lyrics: www.tinyurl.com/7things
Artist website: www.mileycyrus.com

The 15 year-old star of the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana
series and daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus now has
3 songs in this week's top 50. From the platinum-selling
"Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus" album came her last two
hits - "See You Again" (number 6, July 2008) and "Start All
Over" (number 41, August 2008). The first single from her new
album "Breakout" is the track "7 Things" which was co-written
by Miley and it debuts at number 38 this week. In the US,
"7 Things" recently peaked at number 9, becoming her highest
charting hit there.

50. SAVING GRACE - Pete Murray
CD single: (released 23rd August 2008)
Digital track: (not in top 40)
Music video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0RA0ZeBb70
Song lyrics: www.tinyurl.com/petemurray
Artist website: www.petemurray.com

Rounding off the top 50 this week is Australian singer and
song-writer, Pete Murray. His current album "Summer At
Eureka" debuted at number one when released back in May.
The first single off the album was "You Pick Me Up" which
peaked only at number 36 and lasted just 4 weeks in the
top 50. The next single from the album is the track "Saving
Grace" which debuts at number 50 on digital sales only, with
the CD single not hitting record shops until later in the
month.
