I can't view it as I'm currently on a PC that doesn't have a net connection, but
now that we've decided that the expensive brands are a waste of dough, could you
kind folks recommend a brand of HDMI cable and where to get it? I'd prefer not
to source it from Ebay if at all possible.

I am actually using a red/white/yellow cable as a component video connection.
Seems to work just fine.

Well it is too late now, but many thanks for this info.
I did buy discounted DVD RAM discs from HN as a replacement, and I've made
full use of them, so I suppose "all's well that ends well".
I forgot to mention that I could only get replacement stuff from a certain
section of the store!

I haven't tried that.
I used the component video connection in my study just to get another AV
channel (YUV), but I had to get a ( very useful) switching device from Aldi
so as not to get interference from another AV channel.

ummm because it's rubbish made by a rubbish company, antitrust, doesn't
conform to established web standards, allows virus hacks in from dodgy
websites just to name a few.

whatever, I like Nighthawk will never trust ie, yes at the moment I do
use vista but I have crippled ie so it simply doesn't work as macroshit
intended.

Yes, but there the educated ****-wits with big ego's and even bigger
wallets, Just read some of the crap on Audio forums for proof of that.
So Jo, know every ****-in thing, wanders down the shops and pays
outrageous prices for his leads, interconnects, powercords. He's hardly
likely to tell everyone there is no difference. His ego won't let him.
So he relates the Bullshit on the packet, then to keep up with Jo, everyone
else buy's the same rubbish, and to remain in the circle of believers, they
also perpetuate the lie.
Then some unknowing person comes along, and attempts to tell the truth,
about the high priced wet string, the "all knowing" are raving about. But
to keep the myth alive, The new guy gets branded a trouble maker and
banned.
And the ****-wits continue on there merry way.
