ISP Netspace - Comments on sustomer satisfaction?

I'm considering changing my ISP to Netspace on the ADSL/1 512 5GB or 20 GB
plans that seem to be about the best value bundled with a home phone. I
can't have ADSL2 as the local exchange is not equipped for it yet, and we
are not in a cable TV area.

I have been with AAPT for several years, generally had no complaints, but as
they raised their prices a few months ago I no longer think they provide
competitive value.

Have any readers any comments on their experience with Netspace as an ISP
for overall service standards please.

I find Netspace OK.
For 50$ per month I get a 1500 connection with 8 gig peak and 8 gig offpeak
They also have a 512 with 20 gig.
I wanted the speed, so what's a few gig less.

can I refer you mate?

I was with NS for about 2 years before a local provider started installing DSL2
DSLAMs.

I didn't have many issues with it. Speeds were OK, support OK when I needed it.
Certainly, it offered good value for dough at the time compared to other ISPs
that I looked at.

Only problem was that it issued crappy Netcomm modems. Might be better for you
to hunt around for a decent modem and "bring it with you" as they say. Look at
the Billion 74xx series for starters, unless your current modem is fine.

I am currently on my 3rd day with Netspace, after switching from AAPT.
I was with AAPT for 4 years, and I asked them what they could do to
make me stay with them when I moved house. Answer was absolutely
nothing, so I decided to save $20 a month and switched to Netspace. So
far, the phone and internet were hooked up exactly when they said they
would be. The only hiccup so far has been that one the day the internet
was hooked up, I got their welcome package in the mail that has the
little red booklet with all the phone numbers and faq's and all the
settings etc in it. Thing is, I got 3 of them, all in separate
envelopes, then the next day, I got 2 more! It's not an issue, just a
massive waste of paper. So far speed has been good. I got the 1500k
16Gb bundle. 8Gb off peak, 8Gb peak. I checked my usage with aapt and
found I fit pretty much around 8-10Gb a month on average, with some of
that being after midnight anyway, and their of peak time is 12 midnight
to 7am. I opted to sign for 2 years and get a free modem as my old aapt
one, although working fine, is 4 years old now. New Netspace modem is
a Netgear adsl2+. No idea if it's a good one or not. It seems to work,
so that's all I care about.
Good luck.
