Send Fax by Email

I'm looking for a service in Australia that lets me send & receive faxes by
email.

I looked into this one:

http://home.efax.com/s/r/au_search?V...&CMP=BAC-int14

but it doesn't offer the service where I live. (Roma in Queensland)

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks
Graham

I would think you'd just use the choice for Brisbane I suspect the area
code is all that matters. Remember, this software, and the website, are
not Australian so they aren't used to having one area code for a whole
state. (Hence listing just one City -- the capital -- for each area code)

Yes, looking at another similar service (Utbox) signup page they state this.

*Location is just to let us know which area code to give you a local fax
number in. For sending and receiving SMS and Fax you can be anywhere! So if
you are not in one of the location areas listed just choose the closest area
to where you are!

Re: Send Fax by Email

In the good old days when we were all on modems instead of broadband, there
was Winfax, which came with Norton Utilities- you had to disconnect your
internet connection, but it worked through your computer.
Thanks to advances in modern technology, we can't do that anymore :-)

More on Send Fax by Email-use your computer and phone line?

OK, another thought. (sorry, won't help send fax by email, but maybe an
alternative)
Even if you are on broadband, your computer probably still has a phone to
modem connection. So if you plug a phone extension cord in you should be
able to use your computer as a fax, with a program such as Winfax.
Or you could just buy a fax/printer/scanner for about $60 (don't ask about
the refill ink cartridges)
