Subaru Forester Accessories

Still contemplating purchasing the new model, and possibly considering
accessories (amongst some more obvious others) such as bonnet protector, bumper
corner guards, door visor, fog lamp protector, head lamp protector, rear step
panel or bootlip & bumper protector, side protectors, front bumper under guard,
back bumper under guard, side sill plates. Any really useful or mostly just a
manufacturer's price-increasing exercise ?

Oh and obviously that plastic box which fits under the spare wheel for
storing blood soaked rags.

Headlight protectors are largely useless these days since pretty much
everything has polycarbonate(?) lenses. Personally I think bonnet protector
and mudflaps are a must (provided the mudflaps are big enough to actually do
something, and you're likely to drive on anything but clean sealed roads),
and the boot lip protector probably isnt a bad idea, depending on what
you're likely to be lugging around.

Some of the accessories look like a bit of a wank, like a $600 under bumper
protector. Bear in mind also that a lot of the accessories can be had a lot
cheaper from a third party if you don't mind fitting them yourself.
