Don Bradman's 100th birthday.

This week the media were noting that it's 100 years since the birth of
Don Bradman. What exactly is the significance of '100' years for The
Don?

Surely we should be celebrating 99.93 years from his birthday.

Regards,
Noddy

isn't it 99.94?
Either way there was a story last 2 weeks ago (another one i'm too
lazy to link to) about Don having scored a 4 in some match very early
in his career that seems to have been attributed to his partner. If it
does turn out to be an error it's enough to lift his average above the
ton.
I just thought it was a cute story. ;-)

**Well Gordo, why don't we celebrate someone who has REALLY contributed to
our society? Howard Florey, for instance. Don Bradman was famous for being
able to hit a little red ball with a lump of wood. BFD.

Yes, like Mark Priestly from All Saints who was electrocuted a couple
of days ago.

ummm, well everyone I talk to of that generation agrees that he did a alot
for Australia in the years of the depression. The Don gave them a sense of
self-belief.
Why are you crossposting anyway?

**Who is Mark Priestly? What has he done for our society? Was he a surgeon?
A cancer researcher? A micro-biologist?

Why the preoccupation with "society"?

Why would it matter if every human being on the planet were to die
tomorrow?

You'd think someone would get it right in the week of the great man's 100th.

6996 Test runs. Dismissed 70 times.
6996 / 70 = 99.9428571428571428571428571428571......

Hope that both helps and informs.
