There was nothing at all "futuristic" about the P-76 other than it looking

There you go! The one eyed Bogan Noddy wins.... ROTFLMAO.
How in the **** would you ever know what a car is like, if you have not
"Lived " with one??

Yep, now you know
The great "NODDY" has only ever "OWNED" bogan cars, BUT!! he is an ExPert
on those he has never owned OR, had anyting to do with, other than fix
ones ****ed by similar idiots
I find it really laughable that "Noddy" bags Jaguars, on "ONLY" his
experience at repairing, "a few". Jaguars like any onther car get driven
by people who think the cars are indestructable. Rather than give the car
to a proper Jaguar mechanic, they opt for the cheaper, "Noddys"
Attitude, experience and knowledge is an important ingredient.
Now you know why there are so many poorly repaired Jaguars around (I
unfortunately bought one) the "Noddys" who could not give a rats arse
because their impression is, "No matter what they do, it will always be a
bucket of shit". So, the "patch" it rather than repair it!
I bought one, it took me years to get it running properly.
A few "Noddys" had ****ed it completely, the engine had to be totally
rebuilt, plastic stuck in the suspensions, I had to rebuild that.
It cost a small fortune and took a long time, however, that XJ6 Jaguar is
now a better car than it was new.
I don't take either of my Jaguars, or the Land Rover Discovery to a
simple "Mechanic"! They are not qualified to fix those cars and will
probably try to sell you a "HiClone". I do not trust any of them.
Do it yourself and you know it is done properly.
A Workshop Manual on the vehicle, the correct tools and you are streets
ahead!
Any idiot can follow instructions, but! beware, most were written by
mechanics. If the wording and instructions are clear and concise, the
author knows his shit.

What part of "I've worked on enough of them to know what they're like"

Ron, you're a nose bleed looking for some place to happen.

Taken on board Ronald. Given about as much respect as an empty McDonalds
chip packet, but taken on board anyway

And, I'm just guessing here, but you totally missed John's post the other
day about his experiences in a Jag dealership, Hmmm?
Just out of coincidence, and to back John's story to a degree, I went to
school with a bloke who ended up doing his apprenticeship at a Jag dealer in
Melbourne. He became a panel beater, not a mechanic, for Brysons who had
their own paint & panel shop as part of the dealership in those days. Some
of the shit I would hear from him was ****ing *staggering*, ranging from the
mechanical trouble they had with new Jags (back in the '70's) to the fit &
finish issues with new cars that virtually had to be rebuilt in their own
shop before customers would accept them.

Just for my own curiosity Ron, what qualifies one as a "proper Jaguar
mechanic"? If it's someone who is forced to work on the ****s of things all
the time then thank ****** I don't qualify
> Attitude, experience and knowledge is an important ingredient.
It sure is.
Let us know when you get some won't you? You're unlikely to be sucked in my
hyclone salesmen then.
> Now you know why there are so many poorly repaired Jaguars around (I

That's a ****ing crock of shit and you know it Ron.
The problem with Jags is that they *are* an unreliable heap of shit and no
amount of repairing them will ever change that. Modification most likely
will, which is why they're probably *the* most popular car in the world for
an engine transplant.
> I bought one, it took me years to get it running properly.
Only years? Jesus, where was your "Jaguar expert" when you needed him?

How come you weren't able to spot all this crap *before* you bought the
thing?
> I don't take either of my Jaguars, or the Land Rover Discovery to a

ROTFL

Is that now, or after you bought one?
> Do it yourself and you know it is done properly.
Jesus....
I consider that to be pretty funny in light of some of your previous
comments
> A Workshop Manual on the vehicle, the correct tools and you are streets

It ain't hard Ron. No one is born knowing how to do it. A bit of common
sense will take you a long way. However, a bit of *experience* will help you
sort the horse shit from the chocolate royals.

You're a true legend in your own lunchbox Ronny.
