Can anyone recommend a good source for the latest edition (7th)?
Noting that the prices vary enormously among the Oz based suppliers
google turns up, some of whom are still offering the 6th edition at a
higher price.

Good question. I haven't looked yet.

Probably cheaper to buy online from overseas.
SAE-A have it for $88, but I don't know if that's a "member price":

Much cheaper in the USA but none will sell to an Oz address,
presumably because the publisher won't let them.

looks like the non-member price (members get a discount on that price)
and the best I've seen yet by about $20 (without comparing the
delivery charges). Worth a closer look.
Says edition 7 in the listing and 6th in the blurb, so it might also
be worth a phone call. Think there could be at least a couple of
binding options as well -- with paperback at the bottom of the heap.

Wouldn't surprise me. Maybe ship via dawg's remailer address in the
USA?

I'm a member. Did you need a receipt in your name for tax purposes?

I'd probably just drop an email to the woman there who handles their
bookshop stuff. They're always a bit disorganised, so I wouldn't be
the slightest bit surprised to find that it really is the 7th edition
but they forgot to change the details in the description.
Is your email address valid?

Already sent an enquiry to the contact addy, so I'll proceed with an
order once I get a satisfactory response. Much as I appreciate your
offer it's probably best not to confuse 'em at this stage.
I'd also require a tax invoice.
>Is your email address valid?
Individual.net insist on a valid address but the messages get deleted
in bulk... ie it's only used as a spam sink.

As a guide: Amazon.com lists them just shy of USD$30.00
I've got the 24th Edition :-) Don't think it'll be much help to you
in German. There's also a 6th Ed. in English as well as earlier ones
in both languages.
Looking at the various editions, I find that the later ones are
tending to be more and more superficial. So I don't think I'll be
trying to "keep up".

Yep, and is exactly why there was an airline crash because changing
over to SI units saw an aircraft being filled in pounds, not kg as it
ran
out of fuel ... Air Canada Flight 143
Still, by volume diesel has highest energy content:

Even though I've previously bought books through Amazon they won't
supply this one to an Australian address (so much for free trade).
I've now ordered a copy from SAE (Rose is the lady) and by the time I
get back the GST it's under A$100 to non members, including p&p.
Probably get to me by next week as well.

Hope this doesn't mean they're now citing fuel energy figures in
MJ/litre. ;-)
Nah, don't have an earlier edition in spite of thinking about buying
one for a decade or more. Oh for the good 'ol days when I had an
employer with a decent library!

We like petrol so much we bought a 6 cylinder. We only fill on the
expensive days so we don't get that uugh.. cheap fuel. I mean who would
put cheap fuel in an old Merc?
5 registered vehicles and counting.

Yeah. They are a bit of a worry. I've had emails from them that
suggested ordering online by emailing your credit card details...

Figured as much. :-)

Fair enough. Doesn't matter this time around, anyway.
