Yeah, they look to be a right bugger, and I'd be well and truly ****ed.
Still, if I owned one I'd just pull up a stool next to it in the garage,
drop my tweeds and exercise my right to enjoy myself

That's a privilege, not a right.

I disagree about the looks and too bad the 240Z were as slow as a wet
weekend:-)

Agree the Jags look nice but IMO the 70-80's Corvettes look horrible.
My Yank mate owned a 57 Vette but hates the appearance of 70's models
although he raves about the performance of a 70's something 454 powered
Vette that one of his friends owned.

Now there is a car I had forgotten about -------
looked lousy (IMO) But the things used to blow the doors off MGBs
MGA sprites and healy 100/4's
and those god awful spitfires.
And sounded beaut at full song
The TR 's I have always liked but never had one . Although Our Adj
used to let me punt his TR7 about
Funny Bloke (Ex Guards officer twee little cap and string backs
Peterson pipe et al .
And could not say his R's predated python but I reckon they must
have met him and modelled the skit on him no end .
Now punts 777 s about for Cathay .
And still an evil bastard with the skirts ----------- but now has
*THE* most immaculate Ferrari in HK .
Spoke with a real plum in the mouth acted a bit poofy but was
actually an evil bastard and would root a rolling dough nut.
Not the sort of chap that should be driving a TR7 I always thought .

I used to Look at Alfas a lot (just so I could see how fast they
rusted )
Alfa GTV 1967 model great little thing to drive but Rust !! and
door handles always fell off for some reason ?
Swapped it +cash when we came back for a Ducati 900 super sport
which I kept for 20 years (until stolen)

They're *appalling*, and probably the *worst* car in both respects you're
ever likely to find.
Why people pay the money for them they do is totally beyond me.

That entirely depended on who tuned it. There was bloke here abouts that
used to have a different couple of 240's in his workshop every week because
apparently he was THE guy to go to if you wanted a 240Z that went like shit
off a shiny shovel :-)
A bloke who worked with my brother had one, it was set up as a club car,
complete with cage, tweaked suspension etc. It used to regularly leave SLR's
and Cobra's in its wake at club days.

IIRC the windscreen was changed on the 4.2, possibly sometime after it
was introduced, to suit the American market. More upright angle and a
higher screen, so the driver could see overhead traffic lights.
My choice would've been the 3.8. Nothing wrong with their reliability
either (as cars of that era went).
