just had a look and the motor has a sticker that says it does not have a
catalyzed particular filter
There is a big difference between diesel and petrol ie. the oil on the
diesel dipstick looks very dirty and watery
So what oil ?

ACEA is Association des Constructeurs Europeens d'Automobiles, who put
out their own oil specifications (same as Americans, and us, use API).
Off the top of my head, Mobil 1 meets B4, but you'll need to look up
the oil company product guide to confirm it... and to see which
product meets C3. My guess is it would be one of the Delvac (diesel)
series.
Other oil companies should have comparable products.

Best of European luck then.
No doubt that they could look up the product guides (same as you or
me) if so inclined, but more likely they'll just tell what their
workshop uses... which may or may not comply (based on long experience
with dealers).

Likely best to contact them, however it does not mean gold,
they might suggest some crap their dealers use.
I use Castrol RX Super 15W40 CI-4. Not cheap at $127 for
a 20 litre can, need 6 litres for a 10K change, 5 litres for
a 5K change which does not involve filter. It's good stuff.
My diesel has in it's manuel API CD - It might have had
that from factory, however I don't remember ever using it.
Those specs are weird. Likely look them up for
a translation - Ahhh standards - so many to choose
from :-(

Lets hope Hyundai do NOT use Castrol!
If they do, change the oil at half the intervals.
Castrol is fantastic for building sludge in an engine.
Brother has a Statesman that was always serviced on the dot, by a GMH
dealer in Adelaide. When he moved up here, we put a detergent oil in it
to clean it up. It sure did, at 190,000km, the sludge got stuck in the
oil ways, split an internal one and ruined the motor.
The guys who fitted a replacement engine, pulled the valley cover off the
old motor, to show us! The sludge was thick as!!
Many, many years ago, I bought a 62 Ford Zodiac, same problem same oil.
I have not used Castrol since the Zodiac saga, in 1971. Valvoline, YES!

Since you've now established you don't have to CPF (and I'm yet to
come across anything that has) the specification becomes API (American
Petroleum Institute) CH-4 or above, or ACEA C3.
Be careful. Only the top spec diesel oils meet API CH-4. If you like
the belt and braces approach look for one that also meets ACEA B4.
Without knowing you brand preference I wouldn't like to venture any
particular recommendation. The oil company product data sheets
contain the complete information you need. The container in the shop
should have the API spec... run for your engine's life if it doesn't
(only electrical appliancies have motors)! ;-)

Oh, I dunno... it's what sometimes happens to those who use the wrong
spec oil! ;-)

Ron even as an uneducated bloke ( automotive wise) even I have issue
with this post
having used wynns in a a very old VOLVO long story short it was only
the sludge that gave it compression
My simple take is on new or rebuilt motors use decent oils from day
one
clean oil clean air clean fuel as a mantra and most vehicles
regardless of age will serve you well.
Now I am using Mobile and castrol synthetics with the odd penzoil
change ( change filters ervy 15000 ) whether book says to or not
and most of the fleet going gang busters (except the new Holdens
for as yet unexplained reasons ) Probably dudd fuel from drums is
my theory
As last lot of fuel filter changes the filters amazed me that any
fuel was getting through (hence why so down on grunt )
