Hmm..
Tragedy. Well found.
But you're making a point of something that's actually a point about
something entirely different.
Consider that area.
Consider it's DESIGN as a piece of road.
Consider whether it's a piece of shit primarily constructed to KILL
anyone foolish enough to be driving above Your Much Vaunted Stupid
Arbitary Speed Limit.
Now tell me you actually approve of the death penalty for exceeding the
Stupid Arbitrary Speed Limit.
The scum that designed that piece of road do, you know.

The number of "city cowboys" has increased in recent years significantly
adding to the hooning population, in part because of our boom times where
kids with lots of disposable income are buying performance cars.
Add into the mix hormone fueled stupidity and a decline in social
responsibility caused by lack of parental discipline and another hoon is
born.

I have had my share of hoony cars in the past but never did I or most of my mates hoon within built
up areas, not only would you get a rock through ya windscreen when you parked up ya ole man would
get a bollocking at the pub or 19th hole when in turn you would get an arse kicking when he got
home.
They should all **** off into areas not populated and hoon away, thats what cars where made for
(isnt it?)

You're a moron if you think that the behaviour of youths has changed
fundamentally in the past 30+ years.
Drag races down residential streets in 1974? You bet. "Performance
cars" never came into the equation. Corolla vs V8 ... no problem.
Participants are now respectable members of the public, complaining
about hoons.
Quite common. Same as people driving at about 100 mph along country
roads; because they could.
Besides stupidity, the only thing that's increased is the population.
"Hoons" are rarely a road safety issue. It's attractive because it's
perceived to be risky, annoying and rebellious. The more it's
proclaimed to be socially unacceptable, the greater the attraction.
Now, take a look at who's being prosecuted for "hooning". Age groups?
Occupations?

Yeah because we have our own families with kids & spouses we like to not see
underneath a car, we're now smart enough to look back at all our near misses
and people we know who were injured or died on the road and realise how
lucky we are.

So we should make it socially acceptable and it will be safe?
I'll accept people doing burnouts outside my house at 2am if they accept me
backing up on their front lawn and roostertailing grass and mud all over the
front of their house and cars at 2am.
I'll accept them losing control and taking out my front fence when they
accept my bullbar pushing their car through the back of their garage.

Curiously enough, there was a radio 'news' item about that very thing
this AM. Apparently, the Girlies are getting into the act. It was said
that 47 yup - count-em, 47 had had their machinery confiscated in
Victoria in some period or other. Needless to say, no mention was made
about either the time period, nor was there any comparative info on
males of the same age. IOW, a beat-up - but nonetheless an interesting
story.
What to call them?
I guess Hoons is the politically correct term:-)

You're a ****ing dickhead living in la-la-land if you think that those
